Which production tasks are suitable for Alibaba Cloud ECS Spot instances?
The short answer
Tasks that can stop and retry, such as replaceable batch workers, are the better fit. Spot capacity can be reclaimed because of availability or price conditions. Avoid using it for your only database copy or a task whose progress cannot be recovered.

Automatic bidding removes price-triggered interruption, but capacity-related reclamation can still happen. Check availability for the exact instance type and zone, and test what happens when a worker disappears: progress should survive elsewhere, and a retry should not duplicate a customer action.
Include retries, fallback capacity and retained disks in the cost comparison. Review the interruption and disk-retention settings so you know what survives and what keeps costing money. A low hourly rate is useful only if the completed work is cheaper. Ordinary ECS catalog prices are not automatically Spot offers.
