Can I use Cloudways Flexible for an app that requires root access?

Cloudways Flexible does not provide root access. An app is a fit only if its requirements can be met through the platform’s supported controls. If an essential installer or system change needs unrestricted administrator privileges, choose a service that explicitly provides them.

Flexible exposes selected settings through Settings & Packages while keeping root access restricted to protect its managed services. Check the app’s required packages, background services, network changes and installation commands against those controls. “Runs on Linux” alone does not confirm compatibility.
Give support the specific requirements and establish which changes are supported and who will make them. If a required step is unavailable, the app will need a different hosting environment. This applies to Flexible web hosting, not the separate Managed AI Agent service.
