Should I install another caching plugin on DreamPress?
The short answer
Not automatically. DreamPress already provides server caching, and DreamHost warns that additional caching plugins can conflict with it. Review your existing plugin stack and test personalized pages before deciding what to keep.
In more detail
DreamHost documents built-in caching for DreamPress and says third-party caching plugins are unnecessary and may conflict. Its FAQ does not impose a blanket plugin ban, but notes that PHP-session and some captcha behavior can reduce cache effectiveness. Plugin compatibility is therefore a workflow question, not simply a count of installed extensions.
Our recommendation is to audit what each optimization plugin actually does before moving to DreamPress. Keep a clear owner for page caching, asset optimization and image handling instead of assuming multiple overlapping tools provide extra protection or speed. Test the site with the intended configuration, including signed-in views, forms and a shopping cart if you have one.
Check that new content becomes visible when expected and that private information is never reused for another visitor. If an essential plugin behaves differently, discuss that exact plugin and use case with support before choosing DreamPress 1 or another tier. Prefer a configuration you can explain and maintain; adding more cache controls without understanding their interaction makes troubleshooting harder and does not establish a performance improvement.
