Does GoDaddy AutoSSL automatically cover every domain I add?
The short answer
Only qualifying domains on an eligible hosting plan. GoDaddy lists AutoSSL for cPanel Deluxe, Ultimate and certain other plans, and requires the domain to be added and correctly pointed to the hosting service. Check certificate status rather than assuming coverage.
In more detail
GoDaddy's AutoSSL guide lists Web Hosting (cPanel) Deluxe, Ultimate and Maximum, plus Web Hosting Plus plans. It describes automatic issuance and renewal for eligible domains that meet its installation requirements. Do not extend that statement to Economy or to the duration of a separate promotional SSL certificate.
Our recommendation is to create an inventory of every hostname visitors will use, including the main domain and any relevant subdomains. For each one, confirm the correct hosting destination and check its certificate status in cPanel. A newly added domain, an external proxy or an existing certificate can require attention before the documented AutoSSL process applies.
After issuance, test the real HTTPS address and any redirects, and check pages for insecure embedded resources. Compare Deluxe and Ultimate on the features you need beyond SSL; purchasing a larger tier does not fix incorrect DNS or mixed content by itself. Keep certificate renewal responsibility visible in your launch checklist, and verify the precise plan terms before replacing an existing certificate arrangement.
