Hostinger Cloud hosting or KVM VPS: which should I choose?

The short answer

Choose Hostinger Web or Cloud hosting if you want server maintenance handled for you. Choose KVM VPS when you need root access and can manage the operating system. Website and application upkeep still needs an owner in either case.

In more detail

Hostinger distinguishes server management from website management: its Web and Cloud hosting are managed at the server level, while VPS plans are self-managed and provide root access. A larger VPS is therefore not automatically a better replacement for Cloud hosting; it changes who does the technical work.

Our recommendation is to choose Cloud Startup for a conventional website when your priority is publishing, selling, or maintaining content and its supported environment meets your needs. Consider KVM 2 or another VPS tier when the project genuinely requires system packages, a custom service, or server configuration that the managed plan does not permit. Confirm software compatibility before comparing CPU and RAM.

Before buying, name the person who will handle updates, access controls, recovery and incidents. If that person is you, include the time commitment in the VPS budget; if it is a contractor, include their fee. Then compare the full renewal period and essential extras. Paying for unused control does not help a small site, and managed infrastructure does not remove the need to maintain your own plugins, accounts and application.
