Can Hostinger KVM VPS run Windows or provide remote desktop access?
The short answer
Hostinger does not offer Windows VPS. It does offer a Linux desktop option: its Ubuntu remote desktop guide requires KVM 2 or above. RDP access to Ubuntu should not be confused with a Windows operating system or Windows software compatibility.
In more detail
Hostinger states that its VPS operating-system templates are Linux based, with no Windows VPS offering. Its Ubuntu remote desktop option can provide a graphical interface over RDP or VNC; the current guide requires KVM 2 or higher. KVM 1 is not supported for that desktop template.
Our recommendation is to decide from the application’s operating-system requirements first. If your essential software explicitly requires Windows Server, a larger Hostinger KVM plan will not solve that mismatch. Look for a service that explicitly includes the required Windows version and clarify licensing. If you only want a graphical Linux workspace or a remote browser environment, compare the Ubuntu desktop option against a command-line setup instead.
Allow resources for both the desktop and the workload you intend to run, rather than sizing from the desktop alone. For an existing server, plan a migration and copy important data before changing operating systems; Hostinger warns that reinstalling the OS deletes the current data. Verify your actual application on a suitable test environment before committing to a long billing term.
