Should I use a clean OS or the WordPress image on LightNode?

The short answer

Use the WordPress image if its preinstalled software fits your site and you want less setup work. A clean OS is a better fit when you need a custom stack or already have your own deployment process.

In more detail

LightNode provides root or administrator access with a clean system image. The WordPress image instead includes the web environment, such as Nginx, PHP and MySQL. Check the versions and extensions your site needs, then test your actual theme and plugins before moving the live site.

Preinstallation does not settle who will handle updates, plugin problems and recovery; those jobs still need an owner. Choose between Start and Agency using the site's full workload, including its database, rather than assuming that an available WordPress image means the smallest VPS has enough capacity.
