How should I choose a hosting region for Middle Eastern users?

The short answer

Start with the countries you serve and the exact product’s supported regions. Alibaba Cloud ECS lists Dubai, but a provider’s regional presence does not mean every product is available there.

In more detail

There is no single hosting location that can be assumed to serve the whole Middle East best. Shortlist regions that fit your audience, required services and data-handling needs, then compare them from the networks your customers use.

Alibaba Cloud ECS lists UAE (Dubai) as an available region. Verify the instance types and supporting services you need there before purchasing. Do not substitute a provider’s general infrastructure map for the region list of the exact hosting product.

Test real pages, application requests and busy-hour reliability in your main markets. Compare these results with cost, backups and support. A nearby location can be useful, but it is not a guarantee of uniformly low latency or higher search rankings.
