When is RackNerd reseller hosting more suitable than putting client sites in one shared account?

The short answer

Choose reseller hosting when customers need separate cPanel accounts and independent day-to-day access. RackNerd reseller plans include WHM and a defined cPanel-account allowance. Several domains inside one shared account do not provide the same customer-account separation.

In more detail

RackNerd's reseller packages provide WHM and multiple cPanel accounts, with the permitted account count stated for each package. This is a meaningful distinction for a freelancer or small agency that hosts websites belonging to different customers.

Our recommendation is to separate accounts when a customer needs their own panel login, mail administration or eventual handover. Keeping unrelated customers in one account creates awkward access decisions: a person may need to administer their own website without receiving the credentials used to manage everyone else's sites.

Before buying, count customers who need independent access rather than counting domain names alone. A single customer's several domains may have a different management requirement from the same number of domains owned by different companies. Allow room for staging or administrative arrangements only where the package actually supports the intended account structure.

Account separation should not be mistaken for a dedicated physical server or a guarantee against every security issue. You still need sensible permissions and maintenance practices. For a group of personal sites managed by one owner, a normal shared account may be simpler; for customer handovers and delegated access, reseller accounts offer a clearer operating model.
